GTCHS Continues to be Recognized for Excellence in Education
Apr 5, 2023
Greenville Technical Charter High School (GTCHS) is a finalist for the 2023 Building Hope Impact Model Charter Award. Building Hope is a national organization that provides charter schools with the advantage of having a high-level professional partner with a shared mission of creating high-quality, innovative schools. The Impact Awards recognize the schools who are “jewels of excellent education” and their inspiring dedication to their students. The Model Charter Award recognizes schools that excel in innovation, community impact, and student engagement. All finalists will receive a $10,000 grant for their school programs; the top school will be announced at the Building Hope Impact Summit on May 4 and receive a $20,000 grant. GTCHS is the first charter school in SC to receive this recognition.
GTCHS Visual Arts Teacher, Brooke Honeycutt, is the 2023 State Winner of the National Federation of State High School Associations Heart of Arts Award. The Heart of Arts Award recognizes individuals associated with the school’s performing arts program who exemplify the ideals of the positive heart of the arts and represent the core mission of education-based activities.
Mary Nell Anthony, GTCHS Principal, was honored with the 2023 Charter School Leader of the Year Award by the Public Charter School Alliance of South Carolina. This award recognizes Mrs. Anthony for “positive, forward-thinking leadership that always puts students first.” Mrs. Anthony is committed to providing a quality education for all students as shown through her leadership and dedication to the school’s students, staff, and families.
These awards exemplify the continued work of excellence that GTCHS brings to secondary education.
