  • Enrollment Process

    After the lottery process, enrollment begins for a student with the receipt of the lottery notification letter. This letter informs the student of his/her status, listing the mandatory intake meetings, and includes enrollment paperwork.

    GTCHS Student Intent Form

    The GTCHS Student Intent Form indicates if a student is accepting or declining his or her placement at GTCHS following the lottery results. All GTCHS Student Intent Forms being delivered in person are due to the Admissions Office on December 4, 2020 by 1:00 p.m Mailed forms must be postmarked by December 4, 2020. Forms not returned by December 4, 2020, will result in the enrollment spot being vacated and the application being returned to the bottom of the waiting list.

    Enrollment Documents

    Enrollment forms will be mailed to each student accepted from the lottery. The enrollment forms should be completed and returned along with all required documents at one of the mandatory intake meetings.

    Intake meeting dates are to be determined.  Intake meetings will be held in January and February.

    Documents required at the intake meeting (please do not bring them early):

    1. Enrollment Form

    2. All documents indicated on then enrollment form (you will be able to obtain these forms from your current middle school):

    Copy of Long Form Birth Certificate
    Copy of Health Immunization Record
    Copy of Social Security Card
    Copy of all applicable test scores from grades 7 & 8 (MAP, SC Ready, PASS, EOC, etc.)
    Copy of last year’s report card (grade 7)
    Copy of 1st semester (Quarter 2) report card (grade 8)
    Copy of Discipline Record
    Copy of Attendance Record
    Copy of current 504 or IEP (if applicable)
    Copy of ELL score (if applicable)
    Copy of G/T qualification (if applicable)

    In addition, two proofs of residency are also required. The following will be accepted:

    Current utility bill displaying service address and a billing date within the past 30 days.
    Closing statement or current mortgage statement for primary residence showing property address.
    Current signed lease agreement with the name and phone number of the landlord.
    Current paid tax receipt on real estate owned by parent/legal guardian.
    Current statement from any governmental agency which proves residency of the parent/legal guardian.
    Current paycheck stub showing address of residence.

    Other documents that may be submitted at the intake meeting:

    Court order or legally binding document restricting parent(s) access to educational records.
    Written consent by parent (legal guardian) that stepparent/other caregiver be granted access to educational records. 
    3. GTCHS is a public charter high school.  There is no tuition fee for students.  We do require that you pre-pay your 2021-22 school material fee of at the intake meeting. This is a non-refundable school fee.
