Watson Brown Scholarship

The Watson-Brown Foundation has been making college dreams come true since 1970 by awarding scholarships to assist families with tuition, room and board, books, and other college related expenses.  Scholarship recipients may attend any 4 year regionally accredited, nonprofit college in the country.  

Students from eighteen counties in Georgia and South Carolina are eligible for the Watson-Brown Foundation Scholarship.  

  • Georgia: Burke, Columbia, Elbert, Glascock, Hart, Jefferson, Lincoln, McDuffie, Richmond, Taliaferro, Warren, Wilkes
  • South Carolina: Aiken, Abbeville, Edgefield, Greenville, McCormick, Spartanburg

The Foundation plans to award over 200 new scholarships for the 2019-2020 academic year.  All Watson-Brown Foundation Scholarships will be increased to $5,000 annually.  

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Complete and submit the online scholarship application (www.watson-brown.org/scholarship) which includes the following sections:
    • Essay (500 words)
    • Financial Need Statement
    • Student Resume
    • Letters of Recommendation (2)
  • Gather supporting document
    • Official Transcript
    • SAT or ACT Scores
    • Parent/Guardian IRS Tax Form 1040
  • Complete your application
    • Upload supporting documents to online application or 
    • Mail to the Watson-Brown Foundation
