Mr. Douglas (Doug) Adomatis
It is with great pride that I do what I love for the people I love.
I am on a mission to train the next generation of aeronautical engineers, pilots and aviation mechanics. In 2012, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Physics from Georgia Tech and Master of Arts in Teaching Secondary Science from Clemson University, I changed careers from being in business for myself to teaching others. Currently I am employed at Greenville Tech Charter High School where I teach Physical Science, Physics, and classes in aviation.
I have benefited from an education in science and technology and I am eager to help others along this path. My experience in technology-related business has made me keenly aware of the need for skilled scientists, engineers, and technicians. My involvement in mentoring disadvantaged youth has shown me how human potential is so easily disenfranchised. I know that "tech prep" is an academic path to success, because I started my career in vocational school. Certain people encouraged me to go on and do more, and because of them I went on to college and on to start my own business. In every previous position I've held, I have been in some part-time capacity, a mentor, trainer, tutor and guide. Now as a professional educator, I am that person who encourages others to go on and do more.
So why did I become a teacher? I love people. I love kids. I understand their challenge. And I want to help them get through it, like I did.
