It gets such a bad rap for being a difficult, "impossible-to-learn" science but I am thoroughly convinced that anyone can develop a deep understanding of chemistry and grow to love it.  I truly believe that all of my students can be successful in science given the right attitude and work ethic. I have high expectations for every one of you and believe you can rise to achieve to them.

Chemistry is the study of matter, change, and energy from an atomic perspective. Chemistry is an accelerated and lab-centered course which takes an in-depth and mathematical approach. Topics discussed include the parts of the atom, the development of the periodic table, chemical bonding and reactions, gases, solutions, equilibrium, acid/base chemistry, and heat changes during chemical reactions. Honors extensions for the course include but are not limited to lab reports, x-ray crystallography experimentation, and the use of significant figures throughout the year.

My two favorite sciences are physics and chemistry so I'm not exaggerating when I say physical science is literally the best of both worlds! The scopes of physical science is truly limitless as we'll build our own speakers using knowledge of magnetics, calculate our own individual force, momentum and acceleration, and even delve a little into the world of theromodynamics (read: fire and explosions).

Physics is the study of the universe but in our class, we'll mostly focus on motion, energy and magnetism. It is also an accelerate, lab-centered and hand on course that requires logic, application of knowledge and a lot of math. I'm so excited to teach each and everyone of you and see what we are able to accomplish during our short time together.
