GTCHS Dress Code

The standard dress is a solid navy golf shirt, khaki pants, shorts, or skirts (knee length) with belt loops.  A belt must be worn and visible with shirttail tucked in.  Pants must not be sagging but fit at the waist.  Shoes must have a toe and a heel.  Students attempting to deviate from the intended code, with additional items, deletions or changes will not be allowed on campus.  Students must come to school dressed properly and remain in dress code until leaving campus.

Administration will make final judgments, interpretations, and changes regarding dress code issues.

Students should be prepared for a wide variety of temperatures.

Khaki pants that fit on the waist.  No green or brown or other colors are accepted as Khaki.  Sagging pants will not be allowed.  All pants must have belt loops and students must wear a belt in the loops.  The belt must be visible at all times.  No drawstring or pants with partial belts.  Pant legs must not be too baggy or oversized as to cover the shoe.  Clothing must not drag the ground.  Girls may wear skirts that are knee length.  All clothes must be neat and without rips, tears or holes.

Shorts may be worn, unless a student has science labs.  Students in science labs are required to follow the college's rule of no shorts.  Students wearing shorts are still required to wear a belt.  Shorts must be knee length.

No overalls and no jumpers are permitted.

Navy golf (pullover) shirts with collar and sleeves.   No other stripes, patterns, etc.  Shirttails must be tucked so that the belt is visible at all times.  Midriff shirts are not allowed.  If a student's shirttail cannot remain tucked when their hands are raised, it is too short.

Undershirts of any color may be worn under the navy golf shirt.  Sleeves should not extend below the navy golf shirt.

A navy sweatshirt may be worn over the navy golf shirt (solid navy sweatshirt only; no stripes).  All jackets must follow the same rules.

All exterior wear (sweaters, sweatshirts, jackets and coats) must be navy blue.  Winter coats must also be navy blue.  The overall effect of the visible color of the coat must be navy blue.

No sandals, open-toed or backless shoes are allowed.  Clean sneakers and casual, closed-in dress shoes are to be worn.

Jewelry and Chains:  No spiked bracelets or necklaces.  No necklaces or chains will be worn outside the navy golf shirts.  No chains on the outside of pants.  Facial jewelry is permitted only on the ears.

Non-human colored hair is not permitted.

Hats, bandanas, and other headwear are unacceptable.

Students are to remain in uniform at all times while on the GTCHS/GTC campus.
