The SAT is a reasoning test. It tests on high-level critical thinking skills. The test-taker is asked to take information learned in school and apply it to other situations. A fraction of a point is deducted for wrong answers. Students should only answer questions if they can narrow the answer down to two or three choices. The test-taker should never guess randomly. This test includes the critical reading, math, and writing portions.
